Same situation. Every year less and less trick or treaters. Less and less Halloween decorations and Christmas decorations too.

We had a total of two groups come by and that was it.

We still decorate though. Even if just one group comes by its worth it.

It's a slow disolvement of culture and social trust. No one wants their kids running around unsupervised and taking candy from neighbors they barely know. No one wants to hand out candy to a bunch of kids who aren't from the neighborhood. My parents neighborhood is one of the few in the area that still tries to do it. They get hundreds of kids with most from other areas who don't celebrate it.

I think even the church sponsored trunk or treats are decaying. I believe the only thing left are the farms that put together halloween events after harvest. Halloween is the canary in the coal mine though I believe it's been pretty obvious for over a decade now.

I had hundreds but apparently they come on the 30th in the town I moved to this year. I was working late and my gf had to run to the store for candy when the first neighbor kids came when it was still light out and let her know.
Then I got even more candy for the 31st but no one came. They go elsewhere I guess
