USA asked Japan to ban sales of Camera sensors to China.
Sony complied for a while... but Sony also flipflopped and threatened USA they would supply camera sensors to China.

But China didn't care about this silly drama between Sony and USA.
Eventually, China developed its own camera image sensors.
