it sucks that when you realise and understand many things, it might be too late. I'm more or less in the same situation as OP and I just sold my appartment and moved to the countryside. Houses in the countryside are cheap af so now I have some savings. There's only a small supermarket with a few things so I cant waste any money. It feels like Im just waiting for death. But meanwhile, I can take walks, everything is beautiful, there is a river... it is what it is

Generally the best strategy is to only fight battles you can win, only very rarely do you have to take great risks.
