As someone who tried medical cannabis for chronic pain, it does nothing. Sure you get high, but maybe aside from people with seizures, this whole medicinal thing is bullshit. I went for about a year and was completely addicted. All I wanted to do was smoke, it sucked. You start planning your whole day around it.
I really think they should rescind the recreational part, but keep medical for people who really, really need it.
For otherwise healthy people, it doesn't provide any real long term relief. It may be safer than opioids, but marijuana also has plenty of adverse health effects too.
This is coming from someone who used to very much argue for weed. It's an addictive substance, and should remain controlled to avoid widespread societal ills.
