I used to be friends with a leftist online. It was definitely an eye opening experience in regards to how leftists see the world. Some of his greatest hits were announcing that he didn't need to rationally justify his world view and on another occasion telling me that I was a leftist too despite that very obviously not being the case (ie: my gun stance is "recreational nuclear bombs"), I was just controlled by propaganda. They really can't concieve of a good person disagreeing with them. He saw that I wasn't a baby eating monster and determined that I must be leftist in that case. Whatever I said about any topic was completely irrelevant because then he'd have to contend with somebody disagreeing with him and not being an avatar of evil. We eventually parted ways because of on top of him being an abrasive, argumentative shit who says shit to his friends I wouldn't even say to my enemies, he got outed for literal discord grooming a kid lmao
