For years I had come to the obvious conclusion that independent production was the way forward for animation as a whole.
All the big animation studios had gotten both too predatory and too incompetent.
The sad tale of Making Feinds should be told to every aspiring animator planning on giving their pitch to a big studio, and crowdfunding has made raising cash easier than ever.
My gripe it that I had assumed that the new independent scene would be dominated by trailblazers like Felix Colgrave or the old Newgrounds crowd, not the same naval gazing Calarts twerps that infest the industry.

That having been said, there is no reason the character can’t turn out to be an amalgamation of several real life people, or even a symbol of some kind of systemic flaw or something. Probably he’s in part a symbol of the Disney company itself, and other companies like it. He just seems like he was influenced and inspired by Walt in part in order for the viewer to make those associations.

I don't see this doing well not because it's anti-Disney or because of Dana's ideas necessarily, but mainly due to how Dana's only professional experience with writing was TOH, and there were so many fresh out of college writers on board that it killed whatever vision Dana had for it (besides DTVA doing their usual meddling). On top of that, it's all 2D animation and that means it has to be a very big success (if not GLITCH's biggest) for it to get more episodes. The title's also a mouthful.

The small episode count does give me hope, but only a bit. It being a psychological thriller does make me raise a brow because Dana never really showed any interest or aptitude in writing that sort of thing.

Female Protagonists

This alone is what will ensure this shit fails. If there's one thing people have been getting tired of ESPECIALLY boys and men is the spam of prominent female leads. Don't matter whether they are straight or dykes male audiences are getting sick of being treated as if they don't exist with all this trashy female lead bullshit. And men don't appreciate being depicted as either helpful idiots to Strong Womyn stereotypes or outright evil villains to be defeated by the shitty female girl boss feminist archetype.

As soon as dudes detect WAY too much estrogen in something they start dodging. And I think the reason things like Amazing Digital Circus found success is because the main characters are outlandishly ridiculous for crying out loud Pomni from Digital Circus is a female and yet it didn't stop Jax from saying "DUDE you are a clown!" basically the characters get by on being ridiculous looking. But defined female leads is how you lose male audiences these days.

As someone who followed her online presence for quite some time, I feel like the problem with Dana is that she thinks she's the type to effectively write adventure-fantasy and flex off some horror-thriller storytelling, but in reality she's just not that type of creator. Dana is too soft and prefers low stakes/SOL fluffy stuff. For as much as she likes NGE, she strikes me as the sort of fan who engages with the mundane half of the series more than the fucked up parts.

So a couple things. The voice cast consists of one man playing the antagonist, a tranny playing an old man mechanic, and five women. Now I'm down for a sci fi cyberpunk show that vaguely satirizes Disney but the fact there is no male MC sharing the spotlight with the lesbian technician chicks and their new blue gynoid buddy is a big red flag.
