Cable TV put in the work to get entire generations of people addicted to TV, and then they made actually accessing that media shitty, tedious, and overly expensive.
Then Netflix came along and did everything that cable/satellite did, but it didn't have ads, it let you pick what you wanted to watch, it didn't have installation fees, and so long as you had internet you could take it anywhere.
It just abducted someone else's massive market. It came in and fucked Dish, Direct, Cable, etc. so hard, took all their customers, and did so uncontested for less than half the price for years.
Then when other people started to copy the idea, they did so but even shittier. Made you pay more, made you watch ads, or even had nothing but their own media catalogues to run off of. Netflix persists because they are convenient, and sure they've gotten worse, and sure they're woke retards. They're based in California, what entertainment media isn't? Still yet they're basically the best deal on the market. The only people that are even close are Hulu and that's just because they've got a the sitcom and animation market locked down.
