At the root, the word relates to drug use. It's a joke about someone on drugs not being asleep, but being "more awake than ever" because of the visions they're seeing. It's black vernacular which is succinct, to-the-point, and a poor usage of grammar.
This term became popular on black twitter to describe leftie idealism, which was often too big for them to comprehend so they would just say "that's woke" as if the concepts were blowing their mind.
Later the Breitbart oriented Conservative-inc hijacked the term and appropriated it to describe anything left wing. It became a perjorative, "woke culture", or "woke ideas" = leftist ideas that we need to defeat. Now the term is almost exclusively used by the right wing to deride left wing ideas.

That's culture war bullshit that addresses the historical fact of straight white male power and it truly is the /pol/ right looking to bring back that classic power and culture hegemony so there are real observations to be made there. When it comes to blame, they are often more specific addressing class and economic policy, government in bed with billionaires. On the right, leaving it at just "it's the jews" covers all topics and avoids specifics because it's theory based and a narrative you buy into without addressing economic policy. It's not about what billionaires do, jewing is something the right is okay with as long as you're not jewish because to them it's an issue of economic rivalry.
