32 year old doctor here. Only way i could get a house was to renovate my grandfather’s dilapidated farm house in the middle of nowhere. Where I’m from in NY, houses are over a million now. Even with good starting salary, i couldn’t sustain rent payments, saving for a down payment, and paying debt. Lmao funniest thing ever to me was that i had 200k down payment and my income didn’t qualify as a doctor bc it was like 50k shy of what it needed to be for a 1.2 million dollar shit box house.
