Hypothetically the match can end before you enter so you want to be in it as early as possible. I don't watch AEW so I don't know if they've used that fact in any interesting ways to tell stories but it's possible.

This is true and as freebie for any company with enough balls:
you should book a match like this, have it end just before the 3rd guy runs in and then evolve it into a brawl. Enforce the rules you make by showing them in affect and still get action for the guys you booked
