>>18491207It's unfair to compare it to No Mercy because No Mercy is the best wrestling game of all time and AKI games are the exception where they're such good games because you can play normally and have an authentic feeling, back and forth match. But it's it's not a FF exclusive issue that you have to purposefully drag matches out and get your shit in if you want to have a good match, because the reason it's like that is because it's a Yuke's game which had the same problem dating back to Smackdown and even after Yuke's, the 2K games all inherit the same issue. You don't have to let the CPU beat up on you, but you do have to get your shit in and the CPU will usually get some shine by itself.
FF is rough around the edges, you can tell there were development issues and that it would need sequels or big patches to reach it's potential, but overall it's a VASTLY overhated game, the momentum system, while flawed is better than not having it at all and things like abilities and movement and walk speed differences do make it feel like you're actually playing different wrestlers somewhat as opposed to Smackdown/SvR/WWE'/2K where each wrestler feels the same with stat modifiers.
I grew up playing every wrestling game I could get my hands on and FF while flawed, it's an excellent first entry into a series, it's a shame that AEW will never be big enough to follow up on it.
