I think itโ€™s probably more productive to help TNA get a better tv deal and help pop numbers for them. The CW deal for NXT is an embarrassment for WBD because Dynamite costs them 10x as much and gets fewer viewers. I donโ€™t think TNA will get dynamite viewer numbers but if they can get 60% of the viewership for 10% of the price, itโ€™ll further leverage down AEWโ€™s price position at the next round of negotiations.

TNA's fanbase probably has more overlap with primary AEW viewers than WWE viewers so they're not going to make the switch on Wednesdays & WWE fans will not watch anything that isn't actually WWE.

AEW is 100% going to beat them, hell i'd be surprised if TNA wins even on the debut. their roster is just too weak. but it's more about drawing away any viewers they can than outright winning. going from 30k to 100k is better for TNA even if it's not good overall.

this will help TNA a lot but i'd be surprised if this hurts AEW significantly.
very few viewers that are already invested into watching AEW weekly will suddenly decide to watch TNA instead. the type of fan that likes watching AEW style wrestling is just not going to be drawn to TNA by trick williams and fatal influence appearances.
the audience for this is mostly going to be the most hardcore NXT fans that are not also AEW fans/dynamite viewers, which is not that large a group.
TNA's viewership will go up a lot more than AEW's will go down, which is a good thing i guess. there are enough days in the week for both shows so i wish it didn't come to this.
i don't even watch AEW but i just don't want WWE to have a monopoly again so we don't go back to the late 2010s era again. they're even positioning seth as "the guy" again. the writing is on the wall.

Bingo, I don't think people realize that there is only value right now in something being live for television channels. Streaming caused everyone to get used to having it whenever they want, so the last not on demand thing there is is sports & everyone gobbling up everything is going to pop the bubble real quick.

I honestly think we see ESPN get spun off simply because of how much bloat they're taking on right now that Disney is going to regret as they also kill off Hulu.

I personally believe that NXT viewers are loyal and followed it to the CW, and the CW's regular background viewers who aren't necessarily NXT fans tipped them over into having marginally higher ratings than when they were on cable. That makes sense to me because I find the idea that NXT getting suddenly more popular when it moves to a different distribution network unlikely. I am not a console warrior, so I have no need to fit this into any sort of console war narrative. >NXT was running at a loss on USA simply to kill AEW
NXT was racking in millies in revenue, so I don't know about that. But even if it wasn't profitable, your seethe post is retarded.
WWE ran NXT at a loss for years to have a developmental program, meaning the value of having talent trained to their liking was greater than what they spent on it, in their minds. Moving to TV and getting literally any amount of revenue for NXT was gravy. But you've got a sad persecution complex when it comes to AEW.

NXT got a comeback by legitimately being a better show. Not necessarily better than AEW, just better than itself. B&G NXT was awful television and the 2.0 rebrand gave it life again. It was the only show with strong YoY for over a year based mostly on word of mouth.
The only main roster bumps it got were for episodes where appearances were advertised ahead of time. Beyond that, no one who watches has illusions that a top main roster guy will randomly show up. In fact, most main roster talents that do are shitters or guys that creative has zero plans for. The only exception was that Becky had a run with the women's title, but that got mixed reactions.

I'll pretend you are being honest. Why would AEW fans be mad? They don't watch TNA.

TNA will not do much damage to AEW if they move to Wednesdays. It's too late now. AEW draws 550k-600k fans no matter what for Dynamite. TNA may be able to get 50k-100k fans who just want to watch some kind of wrestling on Wednesday's that isn't AEW though. Collision would be a lot easier to mess with since the big AEW stars never wrestle there.

Beyond that, TNA doesn't have the roster and the booking is not that good.

This is true. AEW has a thin roster and it's getting thinner. They lost like five of their top names just this year. They have some good wrestlers on the roster but the stories and production value are really lacking. Their PPVs are good, but I'm not into the weekly show at all. People act like it's a bad thing that NXT keeps coming in and beating their stars, but Trick Williams is a bigger star than the entire men's roster combined.

Kek, I meant to say TNA has a thin roster. AEW has a huge roster.

Yeah, I agree.

I think if they move to a live weekly show, the stories and wrestling should get better as they won't have to work around multiple tapings in a day and everyone will be able to wrestle on every show. But they still don't have the roster for it. I guess they can get more people from NXT to work the show, but I don't know if a Myles Borne or a Jasper Troy is really going to pop the ratings. The best case scenario is WWE lending them Performance Center talent that hasn't been on TV at all yet and having TNA push them as their own guys. Then maybe in a year or two, those people develop and can help TNA.

Sounds like a great plan, Iโ€™m sure that would work well for TNA in both the short and long term.

I'm under the impression WWE already owns TNA in some form.

TNA is really bad at scouting/developing their own talent which is why they are in the position they are in. They really only have ex-WWE people...or current WWE people on their roster. I'm also under the impression that WWE is not going to allow their main roster talents to work TNA, just NXT talents. There's no big name free agents to grab either. Everyone is dead or retired. This solution helps both companies.TNA gets talent they don't have access to otherwise and WWE gets their talent more experience.

WWE is a public company they would have to disclose if they bought TNA.
Whatโ€™s actually going to happen here is TNA is going to debut with fanfare and a bunch of NXT talents and by week 3 it will be doing anemic ratings and WWE will just pretend they never existed again.
