It's not the heel turn, in and of itself, that interests me it's that Kitamiya needed something to do. He had a great series with Ishii last year, but NOAH did nothing with it and obviously Ishii can't just stick around to keep building.
...kind of a similar story for Kitamiya with his rivalry with Nakajima before that. They were seemingly placed as rivals for the foreseeable future then... Nakajima had his "travel lust" let's call it.
He needed the spotlight, and if a heel turn finally puts him front and center so be it. Sugiura has always been the most selfless of the NOAH original, so I trust him to stand aside for Kitamiya... hopefully after they have a big falling out and blood feud but I digress.

Nakajima is one of my favorite wrestlers in the world and, as much as I like GLEAT... there's just not a ton of excitement here. I won't spoil the most recent GLEAT show but there were two key developments that give me hope.
