>【Marigold】MIRAI to leave Marigold at the 10/13 Korakuen event. Struggling with lack of results: "I wonder if I can once again achieve the things I wanted to do, the things I had given up on."

>Women’s pro wrestling group “Marigold”’s MIRAI announced at the 9/20 Shinkiba event that she will be leaving the promotion after the 10/13 Korakuen show.

>Since the group’s launch in May of last year, MIRAI has been active both in and out of the ring, but she struggled on the singles front, unable to secure belts or titles. She challenged for the World Championship in May (champion: Hayashishita Utami) but was defeated, and even with “strong resolve” heading into the singles league “DREAM STAR GP2025,” she was eliminated from her block before the final match. Following her 9/14 Korakuen match, MIRAI tearfully said, “I want to face myself one more time.”

>A week later, MIRAI explained, “There are things I’ve wanted to do but haven’t, things I’ve wanted but gave up on… I started to feel maybe I could make them come true again. I thought maybe it’s okay to have some time away from Ogawa-san and experience pro wrestling on my own. I also wonder how far I can go myself. So, MIRAI will leave Ogawa-san’s side. I will leave Marigold.”

>Regarding those “things I’ve wanted to do but haven’t,” MIRAI said, “I’ll keep that to myself for now.” On the other hand, when asked, “Is there anyone you’d like to face before 10/13 Korakuen?” she replied, “I’d like to wrestle the opponents from my debut match,” expressing a desire to face Marigold’s younger generation—Minami Komomo, Yamaoka Seri, and Yamazaki Yuuka. This is expected to happen at the 10/4 Utsunomiya event. For her final Marigold match on 10/13 Korakuen, she will team with Sakurai Mai as MiraiSaku against Darkness Revolution’s Nozaki Nagisa & CHIAKI.

>“I want to finish with a smile. Though I might end up crying (laughs). With five shows left, I want to fight to the end in a way that’s true to myself.”

>9/21 Numazu, 9/23 Osaka, 10/4 Utsunomiya, 10/11 Osaka, 10/13 Korakuen Hall. Only five matches remain to see “Marigold’s MIRAI.” A talent capable of challenging for the group’s top prize, the Marigold World Championship, she has also devoted herself to guiding the next generation. As Marigold enters its second year, what effect will MIRAI’s departure have? And where will MIRAI go next?

>Women’s pro wrestling group “Marigold”’s MIRAI (25) announced she will leave the promotion after the October 13 Korakuen Hall event in Tokyo.

>At the September 20 Shinkiba 1st RING show, she teamed with World Champion Hayashishita Utami against Aono Miku & Sakurai Mai. When MIRAI squared off with Sakurai, they engaged in a fierce back-and-forth exchange. After trading elbows, MIRAI delivered a superplex brainbuster that slammed Sakurai to the mat.

>With less than two minutes remaining, the match heated up even further. After taking a Glorious Driver from Sakurai, MIRAI fought back with a backdrop. The bout ended when both hit elbows simultaneously and the bell rang for a 15-minute time-limit draw.

>After the match, MIRAI took the mic: “What an amazing lineup! Two singles champions, and congratulations to Aono Miku for winning the Dream Star GP… I entered the recent Dream Star with resolve, but I couldn’t get results. I faced myself one more time and found the answer. On October 13, MIRAI will leave Marigold!” She shocked the crowd with her announcement.

>MIRAI entered KAIENTAI DOJO in April 2018. In April 2019 she transferred to Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, debuting the following May under the ring name Maiumi Mirai. In January 2022 she moved to Stardom, where she won the “Cinderella Tournament” twice in a row and captured the Wonder Championship in July 2023. After leaving Stardom in March 2024, she joined Marigold’s launch, where she, alongside Sakurai, captured the Twin Star Championship and helped drive the promotion as a central figure.

>“Rossy Ogawa has supported me since my previous promotion. Coming to Marigold, I got to have the hometown return match I always wanted, run wrestling classes, and be part of so many cards. I’ve met wonderful teammates and fans, but after reflecting on myself, I want to test my own strength instead of continuing to rely on Rossy Ogawa. MIRAI will leave his side.”

>MIRAI then revealed one last wish for her time in Marigold: “I’ve been entrusted with being the debut opponent for many wrestlers here, so I want to wrestle Yuuka Yamazaki, Yamaoka Seri, and Minami Komomo.” Approaching her tag partner Sakurai, she added, “I’d like you to stand beside me one last time—what do you say?” Immediately, Darkness Revolution’s Nozaki Nagisa & CHIAKI stepped forward as their opponents, and both MIRAI and Sakurai accepted.

>Finally, MIRAI declared, “From here on, I’ll do my best to deliver matches filled with spirit that give courage and energy to everyone. Please continue to support me.” She then left the ring.

Yamaoka says they are rivals, but when they team up, there's a strong, fiery connection. After the match, a challenge was declared for Mayu Iwatani's Super Flyweight title. October 13 at Korakuen.

I think MIRAI saw her window to become world champ was that one year before Mayu got there. Now Miku will win the belt, hold it for at a minimum half a year, then Mayu will win it. MIRAI will be likely a successful defense for both but no space for her own title reign unless she wants to take chance waiting 2 years. So the most she could hope for is white belt, which she'd probably win but it's still secondary. And even that scene is crowded if Rossy is serious about moving Yuzuki up quickly. She doesn't want to be in the situation Momo got stuck in in Stardom.

You can't just say 'no' to someone who wants to quit. So, things like this will probably happen in the future. You said you were 'leaving the nest', but I think it's still too early for that to happen. I also have a feeling of regret"

Mirai in March

- I had no idea that the actresses would be coming, and pro wrestling is all about trust, so is this really going to be okay?
- I lost to the actress Aono, and won the tag belt with Sakurai, but I'm still feeling uneasy - "It feels like I'm doing this for other people, not for myself"
- I was forced to compete in Yamaoka's debut match, and when I saw the other wrestlers wearing the belts, I wondered, "What am I doing?"

>Women’s pro wrestling group “Marigold” World Champion Hayashishita Utami (27) sent words of encouragement to MIRAI (25), who will leave the promotion after the October 13 Korakuen Hall event in Tokyo.

>Having been challenged by Dream Star GP winner Aono Miku, Utami is set to defend her title for the fifth time at the October 26 Ryogoku Kokugikan show. At the September 20 Shinkiba event, she teamed with MIRAI against Aono & Sakurai Mai.

>In their first preview match since the title bout was set, they traded lariats in a fierce, back-and-forth battle. Neither side gave an inch, and the struggle of wills ended in a 15-minute time-limit draw.

>After the match, MIRAI announced her departure. With tears in her eyes, Utami embraced MIRAI, and the two praised each other’s efforts. Backstage, Utami commented: “I realized again how much I love clashing with Aono Miku. For the month that remains, I want to give everything, enjoy it fully, and make sure I defend this belt to the end.”
Anonymous No.18863382 [Report]
>>18863336

>Looking into MIRAI’s face, she added, “Since it’s a positive departure, being too sad would only trouble her. For now, I just want to say, ‘Do your best.’” Speaking to reporters after the show, Utami expressed, “MIRAI has been a central player in the promotion, always bright and sparkling. The feeling of loss is very strong.”

>Recalling their fierce World Title match in May, Utami reflected on her rival’s exit: “At that time MIRAI said, ‘If I lose this match, my second year will be rock bottom,’—she was speaking negatively. Maybe even then, somewhere in her mind, she was already considering leaving. But wrestling her convinced me her shine will never fade. She’ll stand out wherever she goes. Her absence will be a huge blow to the group, but as ace, I’ll lead so that the gap isn’t felt.”

>Meanwhile, representative Rossy Ogawa explained that after many discussions, they decided to respect MIRAI’s wishes: “There was no way to stop her decision. Some come, some go. It’s disappointing, but since this is the path she chose, she must find her own answer. We want to send her off in the best way possible.”
