Dave is very upset that no one watched the 2025 MOTY
When discussing the year end observer award with Garret, Dave was upset with the audience. Even his own cohost hasn’t watch Bandido vs Takeshita from Supercard of Honor 2025. Dave thinks it the greatest thing in wrestling in quite some years but doubts it will win . Because very little people saw it and even though it’s free on YouTube he thinks it won’t win. He does his best to cope about how AEW has had great PPVs all year (going as far as to say in any company in any year ever ) and great dynamites but that the audience is leaving.
He then starts to bring up an argument he had online where people disputed “maybe that means the matches aren’t that great?” And immediately gets pissy about it. Star ratings are up in many promotions but wrestling is going downhill for every promotion.
I’ve seen the match personally. It’s just a lot of 2.9 spam kick outs, typically no selling and a sloppy ending that looked like a botch. It’s in a small venue surrounded by 49 year old white virgins . If anything’s it the epitome of the smark gatekeeping audience. It’s fine buts it far from great
