Reading the reddit thread pisses me off. Nobody will admit it's abnormal what men are going through, and when they do, they do it by saying men are lazy. Men are just "suffering from success" too much. Or men aren't demanded to man up as much as women. Young men are doing way worse than young women, financially, socially, and physically, and all that r*dditers can say, even when admitting this, is how much better men have it.

To be fair, the male strat of checking out has been somewhat working for me as a 25 year old. I hiked the appalachian trail with my wagie money and now can tolerate working and studying more and can take on much more now because I supercharged my vagal tone a year ago on that hike and had a chance to experience complete autonomy for a while.(not moving means no water or food.)
A lot of the problem is how we're checking out, not that we are. Vidya and bedrotting just make you more miserable. Being inside sucks. Being sedentary sucks. Attention farming software we have to use to survive sucks. Not feeling the sun, rain, wind, and straining to carry stuff and climb around sucks. We're animals, yet society punishes us at every turn for what we are. Men, and women to a lesser but still significant extent, are robbed of any sufficient habitat.
Foids are much better adapted to our modern sedentary lifestyle and indeed are becoming superior and far more powerful than most males due to technology advancing and society growing. Just as females historically required a safe, protected home to be happy due to their less muscular physeology and brain differences, males will need concrete jungle gyms and useless physical labor to be happy due to theirs. Currently, if men would just lean into physical labor more, establish a good physical lifestyle, and then take on our female-coded, dominated, anti-man education system, we'd be in a much better place. I blame the fall of modern men on technology and boomer hubris.
