>in a long commune
>have nothing else to do but wanna be productive, so started doing some /ic/ exercise with my sketchbook
>saw a peculiar tall blonde woman like picrel
>decided to do my figure studies on her
>she noticed midway, said nothing but posed in a graceful way
>turns out we are leaving in the same station
>before we went seperate paths she walked to me and asked to see my sketch in a clearly interested tone
>all her smile and enthusiasm all fades away the moment she saw my shitty chickscratch wrong proportion ogre on the paper
>walked away silently as quickly as possible from me with a completely blank face

Is this my villain downfallborigin story?

i've been drawing 8 years. i'm dog shit.
to get good it will take as long as you're willing to work daily, and how efficiently. If you draw every other day, for an hour a day, and you aren't studying, just drawing mindlessly, you'll probably be dog shit for life. If you draw every day, for 8 hours, and you're studying deeply for the duration of those 8 hours, you will be an expert in 5 years. Oh well. Picrelated is something I drew. the one on the right, of course.

Thanks man. That's one of my better drawings. It's just that somebody who has been drawing for 8 years should be better than that, there are people who have been drawing for 1 year who are better. Either way, welcome to the world of drawing. There will always be someone better, but as long as you are better than you were yesterday then it's not so bad.

Correct. Although us untalented losers have the gift of knowing that we can't afford trro slip up for a second. Those geniuses aren't out of sight, it's just that we're too lazy to catch up.

If you aren't already a good artist by the time you're 16, you're never going to be one. Just give up and use AI instead, it'll produce shit far better than you ever could.

you just have to draw a lot. I'm still terrible, but I was able to draw pic related after doing a bunch of loomis heads. I didn't really use a reference besides to remember the details of their faces, but it's not a direct copy of any particular frame from the movie

Draw a big box, put boxes glued to boxes inside the box, spin em around, bend em, twist em, if it doesn't look wrong you're getting better.

Keep drawing things you like, technical skillz are one thing, but you get good at drawing by ACTUALLY drawing.

That depression is a form of laziness. You allow yourself to give up to avoid the responsibility of surpassing the threshold into actually being great at something.
