I agree that IQ tests are not a good way to measure intelligence too but I don't think financials are either. I know plenty of dumb people who just got to take over the family business or break into an industry where they have infinite connections. Succeeding economically is less about how intelligent you are but more about how social you are and the relationships you have

>Succeeding economically is less about how intelligent you are but more about how social you are and the relationships you have
Disagree because it's actually my lack of relationships and high IQ that have combined to make me richer than most people my age and on track to retire early. I mean:
>No interest in getting a gf, wife or having kids.
>Because of above, no reason to move out, or buy a car.
>Simply get a job and save 80% of my wage every month and put it in bank deposits and state bonds generating 5-10% per year.
>Get along well with parents and inherit the place and their savings when they die.
Meanwhile others my age:
>Annoying, post-wall wife who doesn't fuck them anymore and consumes a lot of money.
>1/2 kids that consume even more money.
>mortgage that robs them of 20-40% of their wage after tax.
>go on expensive vacation every summer because wife demands it. Only time of the year they might get sex.
>no savings, no investments, work till 70 or die early from the stress of wageslavery and childcare.
>some of them don't have kids but still complain about money somehow.
I'm rich because I'm socially retarded and have an IQ close to 130. Having relationships would have almost certainly resulted in me being your average wageslave.

>no smart person would operate on the baseline of suffermaxxing for no reason, it simply is not a logical move

dawg the only retarded person in this thread is you. You're right no smart person would suffer unwillingly by choice but when you oversimplify reality to the extent you are everything seems easy doesn't it? You are not factoring in burnout, addiction, human weakness that intelligence doesn't just easily overcome. Intelligence doesn't mean you are a unrelenting robot it usually refers to (from the normie perspective) good memorization, pattern recognition, logical deduction. Not hard work or hard will.

I'm not avoiding the point you literally just skipped over my point by nitpicking where I tried to explain why social skills are more important by only quoting bits and pieces of what I said. Even if you hadn't read what I said before you can see this sentence is clearly cut off

There is almost no correlation between intelligence and income.
Personally I only have five figures in my bank account which I know is better than like 90% of Americans but it's still kinda shitty compared to how well I COULD be doing.
As a Mensan, though, I do agree that just "being smart" is not really a meaningful measurement of anything. It's much better to actually accomplish things and help people.

Okay, let me put it like this. On average I think social skills are more important but yes there is room for social autists like you if you are contstantly grinding. My conclusion isn't coming from just using one person (using yourself in this instance) it's looking at who from my highschool is succeeding, who from college is succeeding, the jobs I've worked who ended up being promoted.

You have no idea wether they're succeeding unless you see their bank statements. A lot of people have what I call "fake wealth". They have fancy cars, fancy homes and the latest iPhone/iMac but they are in decades of debt and live paycheck-to-paycheck. They don't actually own anything they have yet and they are one financial crisis, disease or disaster away from ending up jobless or even homeless. It is their social nature that makes them so financially vulnerable. If they were introverted semi-autists like me, they could've probably retired in their mid 30s if they began work at 21-22, had decent parents and invested their money wisely.

I know who is succeeding because I talk to people and you don't, that's why I don't need to make assumptions. you look at them like a man staring out of a window from inside of a house, I interact and get to know. Social people can succeed because on the frontend of businesses you need social people to maneuver conversation, the role hard working autists play is on the backend calculating the facts and engineering the products. I agree that the type of people you are describing exist, I just think that there is also a group of people who indulge in the same luxuries but are also succeeding so when you only look and don't get to know you generalize

> I just think that there is also a group of people who indulge in the same luxuries but are also succeeding so when you only look and don't get to know you generalize
Yes, of course. But those people are in the minority, from my experience. I work in STEM and not remotely, so I am forced to interact with people. I'd say 75% of them are like I described and it's only because they are stupid and/or careless with money and they lack the ability to delay gratification. They'd rather have material things now despite having to give back twice what they took from the bank instead of saving, investing and then buying those things without getting assraped by loan interest rates. Or just reconizing those things don't even matter and there's more to life than following the normie herd. A lot of people, regardless of IQ, just don't think outside the box and don't seem to ask themselves what they want out of life, making the same mistakes everyone around them is making. And they treat money like it'll somehow always return and things are always going to go smoothly employment-wise. It's crazy to me how many of them live on the edge of not affording food at the end of the month.

>fancy homes
Assuming you have a mortgage instead of renting, that's not fake wealth. The value of my home has more than doubled since I bought it 5 years ago. If I sold I would walk away with a big chunk of change after deducting what's left on my mortgage. For most people getting on the home ownership ladder is the most efficient, effective way they will build wealth. It keeps going up every month, regardless of your job title or performance. It's basically passive income that will be realized when you decide to sell.
>b-but muh decades of payments
Who cares, you have to live somewhere anyways. Unless you inherited a house or you're living in mom's basement that means you have either a rent payment or a mortgage payment.

Don't you think a lot of extremely intelligent people can be satisfied with less money? Even setting your limit to a million would be more reasonable - you can retire off a million dollars.

>The value of my home has more than doubled since I bought it 5 years ago.
I guess this depends on where you live. Housing prices have been going up in my country too but nowhere near at that rate. People still end up making a loss by the time they finish off their payments because of how scummy banks are. I only see housing as a good investment if you're buying a place to rent it for passive income.
>Unless you inherited a house or you're living in mom's basement
I don't live in a basement. I live in a comfy room where I have everything I need and I can close several doors if I want complete privacy. I get along well with my parents anyway and I don't mind their presence as I'm not forced to interact with them.

Everyone has a single decimal point in their bank account. The decimal point signifies the transition from dollars to cents.

OP might mean commas? But that's wrong too because morons inherit tons of cash all the time.
