>hit the gym every day for years and maybe you'll make up for your randomly determined genetic traits
socially (because this is a question of social currency and esteem), i'd rather just withdraw from society and focus on myself than be a loser who desperately tries to fit in and is, at best, average in the eyes of the few people who can't see through the facade. why should i waste my life working for what a majority of people get for free without any effort whatsoever? a fulfilling life comes from focusing on your talents.

Working out improves your life, simple as. The majority of people are unfit slobs.

Why not just use steroids at a low dose and make 3 years of gains in 6 months?

working out isn't for most people, don't do it if its a sad chore you have to force yourself into, rather find a sport that you enjoy. For me it's cycling. Other sports won't give you a six-pack and generally won't be as "efficient" but it makes a huge difference whether you have to waste 1000 hours doing an activity you dread or spend 1000 hours doing what you enjoy anyway.

I think football is quite good too. I play 2-3 times a week and do calisthenics once or twice a week, and I have a six pack. But yeah, I agree that you should do something you enjoy. I like football because there's lots of thinking involved.

There are personal benefits to exercise that you can enjoy if you do it regularly. I also recommend trying more than just a single type of exercise (which I elaborate on with the following anon) to find what you enjoy the most. Personally I hate swimming, but love stair climbing. If I had been forced to swim all my life I'd say I hate exercise, yet it's merely a single choice when it comes to exercise.
t. autistic gymcel with a shit diet so I look mediocre by /fit/ standards.

>find a sport you enjoy
Trying out different ways to exercise is very important to understanding yourself a person, imo. The mentality between cardio vs strength training is unique, just as is the mindset when cycling vs climbing stairs, as well as the mental feeling when lifting for endurance (10+ reps per set) vs strength (<5 reps per set).
>won't give you a six-pack
Visible abdominals are largely brought on by having low body fat. You'd be surprised.
>won't be as "efficient" but it makes a huge difference
Very true. The most important part of exercising is making sure you do it consistently, and there's no better way to do it regularly than to make it fun.
