Thousands of upvotes, thousands of comments taking the post at face value when it is clearly a fucking sockpuppet (which is the word I was looking for earlier). Once you see it you can't unsee it and you begin seeing it everywhere.

As someone else said in the last thread, perhaps yourself, there probably is a big element of botting in all this as well. As in, some of these posts are written by bots / chatGPT (though prompted by a human, with the very specific intention of driving engagement on certain topics from their chosen perspectives).

Maybe after a certain point it is easier for one's sanity just to take every post at face value. Like once you go down the hole of seeing or believing that posts aren't genuine you begin the path to ruin. It's just annoying when some of these posts are so obviously made up and or pretending to be written by someone other than the actual author and then there's thousands of people biting the hook.
