My parents did the same, I left without telling them and basically lived on the street/couch surfed for months with zero contact with them and any of my siblings. I called my sister one day out of the blue to catch up and she had a panic attack and came and got me. My parents apologized. I basically called their bluff.

idk i'm 30 and have openly told them i won't fight it at all if they tell me to get out, pretty sure they never will atp which is funny because it's realistically the only way i'll ever change, i would probably be too resentful to ever speak to them again if they did it and maybe they know that

Start doing job hunting. When you wrok towards job hunting is visible ask parents for help and advice. It may be user full or may be not. But it feels better if somebody else trying to help with your problems.

Good news, it's really hard to get a job nowadays so all you have to do is show your parents that you're sending in resumes (which will never be accepted) and you're solid. You have a huge gap in your work history so people won't hire you.

These neet kids are too comfortable living with their parents, eating the food their parents buy and cook for themselves, and using the high speed internet the parents buy for themselves. Once you're living alone in a miserable place, and have to pay a bill to go online, then you'll be motivated to find a way to provide for yourself.

My mom got me my job. She saw I spent all day in my room and was unhappy, so she told me she was going to find me work, asked her friend, and now I work for them.

I don't use the money for anything.

I sat neet and learned a bunch of skills like car repair, 3d modeling, cad, hobby level electronics, programming, marketing/sourcing, cosplay making, etc. So after all my hard work - nobody cared and wants to hire me due to the job gap! Basically - always give up, never try!

You are either a drain on your parents or your parents are a drain on you. I took up a job because my dad made too much money for EBT. This household in particular that I live in overextends itself financially repeatedly to the point I bail them out. It took 7 years to find a job at all because they didn't teach me basic things like driving. Still didn't teach me and nobody is available. The biggest drains in the household are the stepmom that has consumes kratom and pain meds like they're candy (on top of being ungrateful and overworking us to entertain company to the point I don't get to socialize during family parties, I am constantly babysitting the elderly and working around the house). My half-brother who fucked her back up to require those meds upon being born, whom also doesn't have an income, is her "caretaker" and still can't handle larger physical chores.
So I can verifiably say that yes it is cuckshit, but more accurately whipped shit. It's like being stuck on the titanic after all the lifeboats have left. The old will eat the young.
