I used to work at a plasma donation center about a decade ago.
They can tell when you eat like shit, because there is fat floating in your plasma bottle.
They can also tell if you are on birth control, because your plasma will be blue or green.
Workers at plasma donation centers 100% hate you btw. Every single person there wants you to leave ASAP, and few are above forcing the issue by fucking with your machine.

The phlebotomists lied to you. They absolutely can get plasma out of you; they just didn't want to bother with sticking you somewhere that isn't the elbow. Drawing from the feet is easy, and even if that isn't an option you can draw from the neck (the catheter for necks is fucking massive btw).

Never heard of a donation center requiring appointments. Every one I've ever seen does walk-ins. Maybe it is different for non-burgers.

It is entirely possible there was a mixup with the results. Blood tests aren't done in-house, and the labeling and packing process for blood vials is all manual, so getting them mixed up isn't impossible. All it would take is the dumbass in the back putting the wrong barcode on a vial.
