I wish I grew up with and had a dad. Not that he's dead or anything, just absent.

He cheated on my mom with I wasn't even sentient with a younger girl and I only found out when I was a preteen and my mom had told me. Why do men do that anyway? Cheat on their wives I mean.

I had so many "I wish I had my dad" moments but I couldn't do anything because he just wasn't there. I also hated seeing my friends with their dads, them mentioning their dads, or when I would go to school or hangout events and every kid there would be with their dad. I'm older now but I still remember.

milleniulul here no one in my generation had a dad
my parents and the parents of everyone i knew got divorced when they 5-8 years old and then you only see your dad every second weekend and he has basically nothing to do with your life
also your mother has no time for you since she has to work now but its okay the internet will raise you just fine right

My dad was I think 5'5, 5'6? My mom is about 5'1 or 5'2. This is just an estimate since I am 5'3. I haven't seen enough pictures of him I don't know where my mom keeps those. My mom told me that he was a nice person, when he was still present he made sure I had everything I needed, baby formula, stuff like that. But then he cheated on my mom with this young girl

cope he was 6'5" 6'6". Your mom lied to you. Bet she cheated on your midget "father" with a tall handsome abusechad and thats the real reason he left. Never trust a woman's story.

I'm at the tail end of millennial and for me it was 50/50 wether or not my friend's parents were divorced or not. I, fortunately, came from a home where my parents were still together, and they are still together today, they will celebrate their 44 year anniversary this year.
I am now married with one child and another on the way and one of the reasons that I won't cheat on my wife is because I wouldn't want to hurt my kid who I love with all of my heart.

No she literally never brought another man home. And if he was 6'5 or 6'6 would it not be logical for me to be over 5'3?

Cmon bruh, lets not pretend that women aren't just as capable of wrecking marriages. I had an absent father too, recognize he was the problem in their relationship but I've never once began to hate men as a whole because I can recognize just as easily that there are wayyyy more fathers who stick around compared to the opposite, not within my race but across all demographics.

Sad story OP. I'd want to love my kids and stick with my wife if she was a good person. I hope you find good loyal people in your life. It's a roll of the dice unfortunately, sometimes it's hard to know what the future holds.

I had a dad but he was a moron. Always cared more about drinking and getting high than he did about me. He could talk about obscure horror movies and his dumb ass schizo magic (Alleister Crowley, Alan Moore, Goetia, Dai Chi and Tarot, etc...) for hours on end but couldn't change his own oil.

I think the lack of a good father figure truly fucks people up. A good portion of the people here don't have one. I wish it was more well understood how important fathers are and how deeply a broken home injures people.

I'm on the same boat. My father was a workaholic and was always emotionally distant, he also beat me up sometimes. Lots of stuff happened in my life, and I blamed him for it, to the point of despising him. When my parents divorced I obviously went with my mother.
It has been more than a decade now and I've been trying to get closer to him. He's not a great guy by any means, but I really do feel like he cares about me. Speaking with him, even if it's just once a week, has made me feel better. I suggest you try to do the same, even if it takes years to mend your relationship like in my case.
