How do you cope with the idea that your parents are getting old and they'll die one day, never to be seen again?
Starting a family of my own or having kids is out of the possibilities, only realistic answers, please

Unironically, I started my own family and have two kids. My mother in law passed away in 2023, she was a good person. Now that I have children I understand how much parents love their children, how much my parents love me, and it's sad to think that they will be leaving the rest of us behind someday.
The thought of dying mortifies me like never before because I think about those who would be left behind.

I don't think about it. I enjoy the time I have with them as much as I can rather than dwelling on how much it will suck when they're gone. There's plenty of time for that when it happens.

I will give you what is a realistic answer for me: I won't cope. I am literally only alive for my mother's sake, once she goes, I go. And since I believe in an afterlife, I obviously hope to see her there again as soon as possible.

Until then, I enjoy my time with them here as much as I can.

love them while they're here, OP. Be grateful for the things they do, try to make their lives easier. If you don't live with them at least call them once a day, they appreciate it.
It's brutal that they will end, as we likely all will, but before they do you should really appreciate them.

Hey Op, my mom got diagnosed with a few months ago pancreatic cancer and my dad got diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple weeks ago. The way I've been dealing with it by appreciating the time that I do have with them, and at the same time trying to make sure I have a life worth living with and without them.
I would advise you to just make sure your life is in order so that they know you'll be okay without them. That's the most any parent could hope for, I imagine.

Fuck, typo in the first sentence because I wasn't paying attention, but you know what I mean.

Same as always. I eat, lift and play video games. I've been alone most of my life and I'll be alone after they die. Once I can no longer cope I'll just kill myself.
