Massive, massive cope. Sure, don't be friends with people who are obviously not going to be worth it but life is significantly more enjoyable when you have friends and family to bounce ideas off of and get different perspectives.

it's not a cope, it's widely true, peoples friends turn out to be fake all the time and it ends up hurting them. i agree that it's valuable to have them, but you need them to be real, otherwise you'll get hurt in the long run, that's the point i wanted to make overall. better to have no friends than fake friends.
