Fuck it, I'll just cuntpaste it into this thread. For context, the thread was called something like "Is there anything more humiliating than being friends with a woman?"

>Kek I knew this guy who would take anything a woman did as a sign she was into him.
That's pretty much every guy.
>Some of them try to string men along to get stuff out of them though.
That's pretty much every woman.
Congratulations, you've figured it out. A long time ago I was talking to a buddy about ex-girlfriends, we both agreed the worst were the ones who would break up with you but say something like "but we can still be friends!" My buddy said "All that means is she wants to hang out with you while she complains about the dude she's fucking now. That's what 'being friends' means."
Truer words never spoken. This was decades before the phrase "emotional tampon" came into parlance too, and that's as apt a description as you're ever going to hear. In fact it's even worse than that, they don't just use you as an emotional-support cuck. Women LOVE having a guy who is "just a friend" that they can go places with. They feel safer with a guy, she can use him to ward off ugly spergs who might try to flirt with her otherwise, if he has a car she can use him as a free uber service, mooch drinks and cigarettes off him, and then quickly ditch him if she spots a Chad looking at her.
The harsh reality is that real life is nothing like a romantic comedy or an anime, where characters are "just friends" before realizing that they're in love with each other, getting together and living happily ever after. That's a fantasy that's been pushed down our throats by every form of media for a hundred years. In real life if you get "friendzoned" it's over, just cut your losses and never speak to the bitch again.
