You can feel the sound in your whole body. Bands do random shit that never makes it to albums and being there with all senses engaged provides dimensionality that doesn't exist in recordings. Plus hormones, smells, pheromones and whatnot, even some chick puking her guts out adds. Being in giant crush of stoked people is an awesome experience, even if it isn't great all the time.

I must say though, I haven't been to a large concert in ~10 years. Mostly smaller venues now. Phones seem to have fucked up something critical, however I did see Afroman at a small bar recently and it was dope. Few phones, much partying.
