Cameras are everywhere, parents othen install tracking apps connected to their children phone plans.
How the fuck do you sneak out and buy illegal alcohol? Shops employees are 100% under cameras now, they wouldn't risk selling minors alcohol fearing firing or may be even criminal prosecution. Backwards are under cameras too and police would happily jump on group of teenagers hanging there with bottles after video surveillance dispatcher sees that.

That is interesting social dynamic when some things are formally illegal but you can do its not so enforced *wink wink*. So whatever it's illegal.

But today laws in the books are kinda stayed the same but enforcement due to surveillance technology and changing social norms drastically increased. So society drastically changed despite same laws.

I remember back in days my old school. It has several gates in the fence and school pupils running during break time to buy snaks to nearby store. 10-11 class boys standing "outside school limits" right outside school porch and smoking cigarettes together with teachers. And during summer nights we hanged inside school fence on sport area viewers seats with our first beers.

Nowadays same school? It's literally prison. Single gate, metal detector, pupils are searched, all pupils have electronic card passes, times of entering nad leaving are logged, no leaving until day is over. Under 14 years old can only enter and leave school under parents supervision. Of course smoking and drinking is completely banned inside school fence, under 18 smoking and drinking is banned and strictly enforced.

The patriarchy was always women topping from the bottom. Families revolved around women and at some basic level they understood that they needed that containment system because they are not in full control of their own behavior. Too bad, so sad.
