in the past 2 days i played 9 games of dota, and i went 6-3
its mostly because of my medusa. MEDUSA IS MY BABY GIRL I LOVE HER SO MUCH MEDUSA I LOVE YOU MEDUSA MEDUSA MEDUSA. pic related my favorite skin on mcdusar
im 13-7 in my last 20 dusa games, and a lifetime of 394-217 on her. she carries me so hard, she's the only girl in my life who treats me well

ive been losing a lot on liek spectre and jug and whatnot. all other position 1 heros besides medusa. i still have so much fun on those heros so i play them, but i do lose

problem is im 5k mmr and even in unranked i get paired up with similar mmr ppl, so they're really good. a year ago i was 2k so i played against a lot of shitters, now its harder. the games are better tho because people understand core mechanics and optemize to be hyper efficient and are generally smarter with strats (altho they often times still make large mistakes)

anywhoo yeah i love videogames. im 35 years old loser virgin and i still enjoy the fuck out of them

i think all visual media becomes very predictable and boring with repetition. just have to find a new hobby that is more prone to chance and relying more on creative problem solving. being guided through an interactive world is inherently less fun than having to rely entirely on your own brain for novelty

I play a couple of hours a day, mostly due to the 'daily tasks' that games bait autist OCD anons with; then I rot on the laptop the rest of the time.
I hate that the PS5 burns so much power, they ended backwards compatibility, and that one has to pay for online play now.
Even my old PS3 has stopped playing my best PS2 games, so I can't enjoy any nostalgia. FML.

flatout 2 on a steam deck is pure bliss outside on a park just chilling next to a tree with a steam deck and an energy drink just sets a blissful experience. Honestly, its probably the environment of video games now its more manufactured, way more manufactured you dont get the same vibe as chilling with your friends you get more of this rotting death experience that the only thing you can concentrate on is the boring path of the game instead of just doing your own shit

I've noticed that if you think of video games as interactive art rather than digital sport it becomes a hell if a lot less stressful and so much more fun. Learn to enjoy the struggle, learn to enjoy the energetic investment, learn to engage with the material intellectually beyond just doing as the game tells you to do and going through the motions until the credits roll and your enjoyment will return.

Video games and YouTube are the only thing I enjoy, and it's been that way for me for like 15 years. I play a wide variety of games. When I get bored of one game/genre, I switch to something different, over and over, and after a while my love for the first game/genre has returned, so I go back to it. When Battlefield 6 comes out I'm probably gonna put thousands of hours into it.
