You can't prevent people owning and firing guns by law. You can push and skew things in certain directions but you can't just magically remove all guns from a city or a country.

There are plenty of countries where gun regulations are very strict and almost nobody legally owns guns but still have some gun crime. Criminals will never obey the law and it's a given that many of them will have guns illegally because the police can't possibly see their every move.

The whole issue is that you want your guys to have guns and be feared and your enemy to be disarmed. I associate with other people who are reasonable, fair, obey laws and pay their taxes and I want us to have access to weapons and means of defense while violent thugs are disarmed, punished and removed from society in some way. If you belong to the same group, you want that as well, but banning arms does the exact opposite. If you're an irish thug in 1920s New York you want the italians and jews disarmed and weakened and your guys armed and strong to push them out. It's all just about friends and enemies.

That said it's retarded to bring this Kirk assassination into the same discussion as the 2nd amendment rights. Imagine applying the same logic to cars. Every country on this planet has some form of testing before you're allowed to drive a car. The US is a very car-dependant country, so if you don't allow people to drive, you're infringing upon their right to travel and make a living.
Therefore, you americans should get rid of driving tests and allow everyone the god-given right to drive. Enshrine it in the constitution while you're at it, just like with guns. If you're going to allow everyone to own a gun before they can even drink beer, it makes perfect sense to allow them to drive a car as well.
Of course, I know nothing will happen and I don't care, as I live in one of those countries with sane gun legislation that's never had a mass shooting. Also, porn isn't being banned and we don't have a wannabe brainlet dictator as president, unlike in the US, where you guys keep saying guns are necessary to prevent tryranny.

I agree. Driving should be treated far more seriously than it is and most women have no business driving, considering how often they've nearly ran me over as a pedestrian in a Euro city. It's almost always a woman looking elsewhere or not noticing traffic signs that ends up nearly killing me.
But at the same time, public transport should be improved and car dependancy should be reduced. I'd say it's not a problem in my city as I get by without a car just fine, but in the US it's apparently a necessity that you drive, even for jobs that don't require driving. That needs to be fixed before you start demanding more from people who want to drive.

This nigger has never been in a situation where he has needed to depend on the police. If someone breaks into your house you are likely waiting minutes for police response to something that can end in seconds, and thats a best case scenario. If you live out of a major city or in the country you can likely be waiting an hour or longer by which time you are probably dead or bleeding out if you dont have the means to defend yourself.

The right to life (including the right to protect your own life) is innate, why the fuck would I trust the police with that when in a situation like that every second counts
