It's normal. Or, at least, it used to be before the interwebs. It's hard to pick a side to care about when they both lie cheat and steal to get what they want out of you and constantly try to instrumentalize and own you and your thoughts for power.
Politics are always for politicians/activists and against the masses, against you as an individual. I respect people who enjoy science, because once you get past the academia BS, scientists don't typically try to buy your thoughts or harmonize you with a political group. Hence why, I'd imagine, you like 4chan. Everything is anonymous here. People still try to sell you shit, sure, but there's no individual power, updoots, money, or even friendships to actually be had here, so people just say what they want. No systemized AI slop. No clickbait. No shadow bans.
Here, we are human, not tools. We are free to post and fight our wars for ourselves. The information presented here comes to us without making demands of us. You won't lose your career or get a career here, and everything is more or less consensual thanks to the website's inscrutable basic bitch design.
To not be political is to be sane. People like you mean we're healing. You're capable of real empathy, the kind with nuance and love for your enemies that the human condition is at its best known for rather than just politicians' use and manipulation of your feelings and thoughts to dehumanize and be violent to anyone of the opposing tribe you're supposed to hate.
