Guys, I think I'm turning racist. I grew up in a small, ethnocentric rural town with no crime besides some drug abuse. I didn't really have to deal with different "cultures" and I figured I'd handle it fine when I got older. I did not.

I've been joking about it since I was in middle school, but since I've started uni I've just been meeting more and more black people, and every stereotype I heard about them is getting reinforced.

Yes, there are white and hispanic people doing this too, (not any Asians interestingly). The problem is that like, 90% of the time, if I don't know the ethnicity ahead of time, I am accurate with my guesses 9/10 times.

To top it off, we had some racist and homophobic church groups on our campus around a month ago and I genuinely couldn't bring myself to disagree with their rhetoric. The one guy I talked to was genuinely a nice guy to me (pic related). They definitely said some retarded shit, but like... I could ignore that. I don't think I could ever have done that before.

I don't want to be racist. I never wanted to be. It used to be for the memes. I heard some people call this black fatigue, but I feel like it's escalating far beyond that. Am I really falling down the alt right pipeline?

basically, since there's no action to take once you have adopted these ideas (unless you'll dedicate the rest of your life to the formation of an ethnostate), you should probably just do what most people do, stay quiet, don't argue about it, avoid going out after dark in minority heavy areas, don't relax in urban areas, etc.

I guess that's the mistake I made. I talked about it to some of my close friends. They haven't cut me off or turned against me or anything, we've always been loyal to each other. They were definitely disturbed by it though, and it's made me feel like something's wrong with it

Don't conflate reasonable with unreasonable, recognize your bias, and therefore don't share "racist" claims with others (e.g. blacks do so and so, x minority did this for this reason) unless you're willing to stake your life that it's true. Just be polite, use common sense, and maybe this will be a benefit instead of a status debuff.

In my experience it depends entirely on major. The black kids in the more difficult STEM or high rigor humanities (like history or fine arts) majors were competent strivers, those in nursing or business or the bullshit humanities were lazy.

Ever wonder why the Deep South and South Africa used to get tarred with the "racist" brush?
