all im going to say is you dont really know what'll happen afterwards. if it's going to be nothingness, an afterlife, the void, hell, whatever. i like to think that we were put in this hellhole for one reason or the other and killing yourself is like tearing up a contract. it's bad juju. it's going to sound cringe but try to find some kernel of happiness somewhere. change your life some way. do anything to change, really. fix what is making you miserable. really try to see what you're missing in life that's making you think this way.

That's because there is no answer anon. Life is absurd and nature doesn't care if you commit suicide or not.

If your suicidal tendencies aren't a result of some external circumstance (trauma, bankruptcy, etc.), and instead come from some deep existential unrest, then no one can help you but yourself.

The good news is that helping yourself is totally possible. Creating your own reasons for staying alive is great because they are YOUR reasons - no one else's. And they are naturally aligned with your values and morals.
It takes time and effort to come up with these reasons though, and things become clearer once you make it out of your mid-twenties.


I won't lie and tell you everyone eventually "figures it out". I'm sure some people stay miserable their whole life and never self-actualise.
But you can never claim the opportunities weren't there.


Some days the suicidal thoughts are stronger, but you have plenty of time to kill yourself, so you can always say "I'll do it tomorrow", "I'll do it tomorrow"...
Worst case scenario, sell all your possessions, move to Thailand, and become a Buddhist monk.

I guess the only thing I can think of, if you truly plan to kill yourself, is to do something drastic and life-changing, like sell all your stuff and become a traveler or something. You may discover something new that you never had before and it will give your life new meaning, or if it doesn't, you can still kys or whatever. You have nothing left to lose, so maybe you need to find something to gain.

i'm not suicidal, but chronic pain has put me off this type of thinking. abused the fuck out of ketamine and now my bladder feels like it's on fire. affects everything including my mood and sleep. people definitely adjust to a base level of pain, but i also get stabbing pains.

maybe one day i'll quit being a bitch and go get surgery, might need part of my bladder burnt off or whatever. but as things are, i can't blame someone who's physically suffering day to day and wants to end their life as peacefully as possible. there are plenty of people who have it far worse than me who want that option.

that said, as for depression or similar, i don't know. would always say do what you can to keep them alive (and i know that absolutely sucks for depressed people - a simple cure would be great).
