Why are they pushing AI at literally every layer of society when there is zero proof it improves society, improves productivity, improves learning, improves ANYTHING in any way

Money, greed, hubris
People blinded by power who only seek to gain more and more
They're like a cancer that keeps growing, threatening humanity

it's called neoliberalism, nonny. or "abundance", to the layperson.

Ai is usually wrong more often than it's right, but it looks like output and that's the only metric that matters. It's kind of like how you used to use lorem ipsum. Quantity>quality.

It's for the general population to be the guinea pigs. No you will not be compensated. Yes, you will pay for it either way.

Neoliberlism is the ideology of the machine. Your culture must be disrupted and uprooted to make you more amenable to value extraction by multinational corporations.

A supernatural force is struggling to be born.

a lot of good takes in this thread but they all pale in comparison to the fact that the VAST majority of humans are extremely lazy and will choose the path of least resistance every single time. it doesnt matter if AI is worse, it doesnt matter how much it hurts society, what matters is that it can do your work for you in a fraction of the time it would take a (you) to do it, even if it subpar

It already performs most tasks better than humans. Just make it better at context handling (like social/language subtleties) and it can run a nuclear plant on its own with some robots. It's just not trained enough in the physical world but that'll come with robots. It doesn't need to be the next Einstein it just has to do the tasks that a human would do without errors, most of which are already repetitive with some contextual handling of exception cases.

I kinda thought this was a given. What pisses me off are the people trying to take credit for shit invented in the 80's and 90's. It's all functioning off graphics architecture, so the tech has been stagnating and is only being optimized.

Nothing new has been invented in the past 10 years. Our tech just happened to get close enough to start scratching web3 and GPUs marbling out matrix models like pachinko.

This round of tech CEO is only here for the stolen valor of others smarter and more capable.
