my understanding is it really isn't a religious war/conflict whatsoever. israel, palestine, iran, saudi arabia etc., there's actually very little religious dimension despite a cursory view seeming like that

i believe the only time it bubbles up into that is when there are disputes over certain religious sites and israel sometimes blocking access or israeli citizens intimidating muslims who visit the sites (hence hamas naming their october 7th attack "al aqsa flood", as defense of/revenge for blocking access to al aqsa or something)

but yes, for sure, fuck religion and religious people. it only makes it worse
