Flu vaccine, worth getting?
Not an antivaxxer, not someone who's been wearing a mask for 6 years. I just can't seem to find any reliable data on its effectiveness in prevention and reduction of symptoms since most people don't get tested. Yes I know the cocktail changes every year based on the predicted variants. My mom had the worst flu of her life the one time she got the vaccine and so never took it again. Medfags please advise.
>t. starting to have symptoms, too late but curious for the future.

I dont think it's worth it. its probably safe for you but if you are going to die from a flu, you probably weren't going to make it anyways.

I am hypothetically a 30 year old male with an alcohol problem. Never been seriously ill. Had 1 covid shot, plus 1 booster. I don't think I'm going to die from a flu but I wanted to know the statistics on if it's actually worthwhile. For someone not in medicine, it's not obvious. I used to be a teacher, and I only had to take a TB test once in my life; the rest of the time you check a box saying "I have not been in contact with someone with TB" and you never need a shot. State Dept. recommends getting something for yellow fever when traveling to Thailand, but neither country required me to have it when I visited. Just wanted to see if there was a consensus on what I should do, or what most intelligent people do when it comes to the flu shot. I don't think I will be injured by a vaccine or die from the flue, but it wasn't easy to find good research on how likely it is to prevent an infection oyma4pr lessen symptoms.

Your mom should have gotten Rubella while pregnant with you so you would have not wasted oxygen.

Of course, she probably got the MMR vaccine, so here we are unfortunately.

It also just sucks to get generally.

I don't care if you're in your prime, there's no reason to take a vastly increased risk of 2 weeks of feeling like absolute shit cause you don't want to experience 2 days of a sore arm. And that's setting aside the ethical considerations and risks of basic ass complications like bronchitis that can fuck your ass up for months.

I've had the flu once (immediately after back to back colds to boot) and I'm never missing my shot again.

Or you could just take care of your body and your immune system. If you get a flu and have symptoms for more than 3 days, something is seriously wrong with your body. Normal healthy people don't even notice they get it.
And no, the flu vaccine won't save you. In a long term it will suppress t killer cells, the one's fighting cancer and any other shit. Ob top of that, if you actually look ibto studies, flu vaccines increase the risk of a severe flu infections and don't even reduce any risk of flu if you got a shot a year prior.

according to population mortality data comparing flu death rates before and after vaccine introduction showed no reduction
