You are absolutely right with the escalation into de-escalation part. It feels bad to go from a high-stakes driven arc right into a lower-stakes arc; tensions should only rise, not lower over time, at least in a manga like Chainsaw Man.
However, it seems that we're finally re-entering the tumultuous state of the manga again, which is when CSM starts to thrive. CSM's strong suit has always been the chaotic nature of it and the ever-expanding tensions that resulted from it.
