In SWG you had the ability to stake a claim on the world map, that's right, no instancing, no housing zone, the actual overworld map. You could setup shop just like any modern sandbox game and if enough people built up near you, you could turn your little spot into an actual town and get your own "flight path" to it.
You are ignorant to what the housing system is like in other MMOs.
