the movement is a bit stiff to me and I don't like that compared to quake as much, and I wish it had armor degredation, but it's great

while 1v1 duels at the highest level are incredibly cool, I agree it sort of pidgeonholed or flanderized the whole genre when other genres got big

I'm also adamant about the fact that even newcomers can LOVE these games for stupid explosive fun if they can get matched with similarly skilled players easily and get to play modes they personally gel with

the hyper competitive duel players enjoy the game very different from FFA chaos enjoyers, to players who solely play CTF and objectivebased modes
