Charging speed reverted back to NG1
Manual charge only lets you get an ET at max
ETs reverted back to NG1 with much shorter animations with less hits.
Yellow essence works as a flat damage multiplier for attacks that absorb it
Essence can NOT be used to charge a UT without being in bloody rage
Ninpo works similar to 3RE but you can only charge it using Essence (all essence charges ninpo)
When performing Ninpo techniques, it will suck up surrounding nearby essence, leveling it up. Can alternatively do a fast version of ninpo to not suck up essence.
Bloody rage returns, the higher your rage multiplier the bigger essence orbs will drop which further multiplies the damage of ninpo/et/ut.
Kills caused by ut/et/ninpo instant cause essence to be sucked up (so can't be used to immediately charge another technique)
OTs only drop blue essence, which can still be used to charge techniques but will not multiply your damage nor level them up further (other than charging an ET).

To sum it up
>No longer able to cheese with pre-charged UTs
>ETs and UTs are weaker by default
>Back to back UT spam no longer possible
>More thought put into when to absorb essence, as each essence multiplies the damage of a charged technique and simultaneously you have more options to use UT
>OTs have more purpose while also punishing you for not spamming them
>A direct reason to keep bloody rage multiplier up other than score/XP
If you want my idea at it's absolute simplest, then remove manual UT charge, lower damage of ET/UT, each yellow essence orb acts as a damage multiplier, and ET/UTs don't refund yellow essence. At the bare minimum this would make the UT/Essence not just more balanced but more fun to manage
