The Germans were imperialistic conquerors, but overall yes you are correct. There is a lot of distortions on ww2.
France and Britain simply opposed Germany for their own geopolitical interests on the continent.
Albeit Hitlers diplomatic fuckup provided them with the moral highground for free to do so.

It's basically just a "No u" and "What about" speech.

He throws dirt at England for having a conquering empire that suppressed the locals, while he himself conspired to conquering an empire that would suppress the locals.

It's effective propaganda, but Hitler also have some truth in it. The western powers racially categorized non-europeans to justify their overseas empires. Since Germany couldn't gain any overseas empire they racially categorized other Erueopeans to build a continental empire, to which Britain and France pretty much responded with a "wait wtf you can't do that..."

1. A pan-germanic nationalist and a cultural romanticist and a socialist

2. Resented his birth country for being multi-ethnic and ruled by bourgeoisie classes of the old Habsburg

3. Wanted to be a part of Germany and felt that all Germans should be part of the German state too

4. Believed in German supremacy because of the cultural, scientific, innovative, political and military achievements made by germanic people through history

5. Consequently believed that a state is defined by its culture and that the culture was defined by its racial blood

6. Believed that the German state should hold the dominant position in Europe for said reasons

7. Volunteered for the German army in ww1 for said reason

8. Migrated to Germany after the war, joined a paramilitary group that sought to combat those perceived as enemies of the state (primarily communists) and protect 'German dignity' from its defeat

9. Because of social instability and economic breakdown, added with Hitlers own humble origins and his romanticized view on the German people and nationalistic views, he wanted to merged racial socialism with fascism

10. Consequently made him extremely hostile to perceived biological weakness such as mentally ill, and racial aliens such as jews. Believes ww1 was lost unfairly because German superiority wouldn't allow it. Embraces militarism and the drang nacht ost ideas. Slavs are identified as ideal colonial subjects

11. Gains at least 1/3 of the vote primarily to fix the economy and reverse Versailles treaty

12. Selected as chancellor because sitting president has a beef with a number of people

Even tho we often cite the German Nuremberg laws as viciously evil, it wasn't that far from American Jim Crowe, and different apartheid race laws in many British dominions such as Australia
