>A&P has no more time in program requirements
Interesting. That’s new.
>but even then lots of people I graduated with got theirs within 18 months and now days there are 2week crash corses (for people who are in the industry but just want a quick way to get certed)
Okay, but that 2 week crash course means diddly shit to somebody who has no experience because no way they’re gonna pass that shit. It seems like the standard approach is still get your A&P first then work. Maybe work a little while you’re in A&P school (still prolly gonna make less while you’re learning).
>I’m looking at Alaskas pay scale and 36 is without the A&P but you have no shot to work on any flight line as a 20 year old without it
I had no idea it was even legal to work without some kind of A&P certification. I don’t think I even want unqualified teenagers working on fucking aircraft lol. At least the Air Force holds your hand until they’re sure you want blow everything up.
>It’s not as cut and dry as that like on paper I’m on nights but if I go on a temporary assignment it can be whenever we are set up to work.
Okay, but you’re on nights though. Military can put you on nights too, but I’ve never heard of anyone going straight to the airlines and being put on days from the jump.

>I don’t know how to put this in a way that is believable because I don’t really believe it but I barely missed 6 figures pre tax last year and this year if I keep working a steady amount of overtime I’m set to break 130k and this isn’t including my temporary assignment travel pay food allowance and incidentals
I get how overtime works, but not everyone wants to work 50+ hours a week. There’s no overtime in the military. Some mil people are working crazy long hours. Other people are working crazy short hours, but they pay is the same no matter what.

Some mil gigs travel a ton and get a lot of per diem, but your varies job to job.
