How likely am I to get a good duty station as a 35N with no Option 19?
Should I wait until October when the fiscal year resets to see if I can get an Option 19 contract?

What's a "good duty station?"
Here's what I can tell you: an option 19 does not guarantee that your dream duty station will be available. The Army has slots for specific option 19s based on how much each duty station needs a certain MOS. Even if you wait until October, it might turn out that nothing is available but Polk and Irwin.
Also, if you want to make a career of it, having some FORSCOM or SOCOM experience under your belt will help. If you go INSCOM first, you'll end up a little thin-skinned and whiny compared to your peers who cut their teeth on CTC rotations or deployments for their first 3 years. It's not necessarily bad to go INSCOM or good to go FORSCOM, don't get me wrong, but knowing the difference between some catty office bullshit and shit that genuinely sucks ass goes a long way towards improving your mindset.
Also keep in mind that you can 1) communicate with your branch manager during AIT and set your preferences in IPPS-A, 2) request to PCS at the 2 year mark at a duty station, and 3) drop packets for shit once you meet the TIS/TIG/rank requirements. If you don't get the duty station you want, don't let that stop you from getting what you want out of the Army.

Can't tell you anything about regiment or rasp. But I ranger school you'll get the same training as anyone else regardless of your MOS. The tactical stuff won't be valuable if you're not an infantryman (it barely is if you are), but you'll get instant credibility on your shoulder and you'll know how to deal with people who are retarded due to hunger and sleep deprivation.

So what I will tell you is that there's not really an applicable MOS (enlisted, warrant, or officer) for this, but that the Army, Navy, and Air Force research labs care about that kind of thing a lot and have funded research in that direction in the past. I probably wouldn't join the military if I had an advanced degree in a related field but would instead seek positions at national labs or IC agencies.

Oh and to answer your original question: there is much more interest in nuclear research than the narrower AMO field, from the resources I consulted, but AMO stuff seems to have spicier applications in some areas. With nuclear you can do anything from working at a DoE research lab to working at a nuclear weapons service depot to working on miniature reactors, while AMO is mostly a service research lab kind of thing.

Not only would the "domestic enemies" cause a revolution if attacked, seeing as how it's about 50% of the population at this point if not more, but even if there was no organized resistance, attacking one's own civilians WILL cause Zionist global empire to crumble. You can't send Israel aid while your own civilians are hunting down glowies.

Rome didn't collapse overnight, and neither will JewSA. However, American global dominance fades every day. There's too many reasons to list them all.
>global empire for sole purpose of serving Jews in a time when even normies are waking up to Jewish tricks
>trying to maintain power balance created after ww2, which was the last true war USA won, and it was 100 years ago
>still richest country with best gadgets, but average standard of living declines every year, and all the money and power gets used to fund Israel and enrich the top 1%
>all the global dominance is used just to destroy white goy males
>USA "fights" exclusively via proxy at this point, by tricking others into fighting
>internal conflicts (like Jan 6) seemingly about to boil out of the pot
>even zogbots are getting less loyal, look at how many terrorists and mass murderers are zogbots
>censorship undermines freedom, and lawmakers rape the Constitution
>glowies rape it even harder
>no uniting culture
>meanwhile, China can already outcompete USA on an even playing field in terms of manufacturing
>dollar devalues faster and faster
>capitalist system requires infinite growth as Marx said, but infinite growth cannot continue forever
>foreign policy of USA is unironically fuck everyone but Israel because the only purpose of USA is to serve Israel
>every country on Earth understands this, amid recent American chimpouts (bombing shithole nuclear facilities)
>USA enemies have been and will continue to slowly build nukes, eroding the post ww2 balance of power further
USA is resorting to fascism at this point. The lunatic janny is going to delete this post, but it doesn't matter. The empire fades slowly.

The USA is becoming way more fascist. You're erring by thinking fascism is necessarily antisemitic, when that's not true, with a good example being modern Israel. Fascism is defined more by extreme authoritarianism. I've witnessed what the PATRIOT act and later COVID did to USA. I've seen America absolutely quash all internal opposition, even when it came from honorable citizens. Stop thinking fascism is antisemitic in nature. Fascist USA no longer cares about free discourse. The state censorship machine permeates to all social media, even here. Even on 4chan, once considered the last bastion of free speech, jannies have been proven (in the recent hack) to own the goal of banning wrongthinkers. This is how fascism actually works irl, especially when combined with the elevating levels of modern nationalism. All the fascist elements are there. Even if you disagree and say it's not real fascism, we can at least agree that USA has never been this authoritarian.

I agree with everything you say. However, you must consider that the US is different than every country in terms of where you are. California is left wing fascism that openly heads towards Soviet style authoritarianism. Vermont is British style where anything challenging the narrative will whisk you to jail over the smallest thing. On the flip side, Texas and Idaho for example, follow more nationalist fascism like israel where extreme jingoistic mentality will get you ostracized and thrown to the wolves for not "being like them". You'll see more bans of material good there, unlike left wing authoritarianism where words are their fear. It's foolish to think that the US is not divided. At this point, it needs to Balkanize to maintain cohesion. You can't have a state like leftarded Massachusetts in the same country as red Texas. It doesn't work.

These are the people you're going to fight alongside with. Well, you're not actually ever gonna fight, but if you did, these niggers would sell you out every time. This is the reality of armed forces: your greatest enemy is your own fellow soldier. Disgraceful. Who would join an Army that doesn't have your back? You could become homeless, and your fellow veterans would defend why you should suffer and why migrants should take all your gibs. Great example of why the empire is dying.

First of all, you could just become a cop to begin with, and spare all the zogbot bullshit. Second of all, the armed forces intentionally mind break their own zogbots as a type of 'filter'. You could cope by saying that many zogbots are already retards before they enlist. This can be evidenced by the ASVAB scores, where even a cretin like me can get a ridiculously high score. So yeah, if you're a dumb fuck, and you're agreeable to golem brainwashing, then by all means enlist. Just don't say I didn't warn you when your fellow veterans shoot you for being homeless.

If you thought I don't take orders from 4chan incels, how come you gave me an order? Fucking retard, your thoughts don't even matter. Besides, "post X" is always a cope because even if you post something good, you'll never win. I come from /o/, and whenever an incel says "post car", you're always better off not doing so, even if you have the best car on the thread. The reason is because by following some random incel's demand, you are giving them power over you. At that point, you're just trying to get approval from that incel, but the incel already has his mind made up about you. Therefore, the only proper way to reply to a post that demands " post X" is to remind the incel that xe has no power over you, and is unable to command you to do anything.

Nigger zogbot, there are unironic Army cadences about Jody.

>peacetime army?
Well of course, we have women in command everywhere, and there hasn't been a real war in a long time. Women don't wanna go into a wartime army. Thus, judging by the sheer presence of women, it's clearly a peacetime Army.

>guaranteed maiming
First of all, your logic fails because I never said guaranteed. If you're female, all you have to do is get pregnant and dodge deployment. If you're male, there are other ways to dodge. Guaranteed deployment dodge. What I was trying to say is that should the worst happen, you'll be left to rot like the dog that you are. No one wants a war crippled zogbot, not even the country xe once served. Not his wife, probably not even his family. The only thing a crippled zogbot is good for is gibs.

>but adult welfare
The goal for a lot of people is to "make the most out of the Army" by maximizing gibs while minimizing actual service. That's the name of the game, quit acting like you don't get this. I never said you will get crippled, retard. I just told you one of your favorite zogbot bedtime stories.

>the worst is nuclear apocalypse
No it isn't, retard zogbot. In nuclear apocalypse, the problems and pain of the modern world get burned away. The suffering is minimized, because it's over relatively fast. But none of that matters, because the bedtime story I told wasn't macro in scale. Macro scale is harder to talk about, so I was trying to focus on the micro scale. That is, you and yourself only. When I said "should the worst happen", i meant to you as an individual. Clearly, you already know this, and are playing dumb. Your bad-faith zogbot arguments aside, the meaning of " should the worst happen", in this case, means you get crippled instead of killed, and then the rest of your life falls apart because no one wants a crippled zogbot. And before you try telling me how much you care for all the crippled zogbots, I'll remind you that even I probably have more empathy for them, despite the fact that I openly hate ZOG and Israel and seriously enthusiastic zogbots.

>painting me as a misogynist
Show me a woman who can beat me up, and I'll follow her. Their entire point is "we women are equal and just as good as men", but every time this gets proven wrong in war. Remember how Israel prioritized the female hostages because they're women? Women have no place fighting real wars, that's how it's always been. They're weaker and more cowardly. It will be fun watching your mental gymnastics as you cope with that.

I'm graduating from university next year and I am thinking about joining as an officer, either the Marines or Air Force. I know these two branches are very different culturally but they both appeal to me. On one hand the Marines are badass trained killers with cool uniforms but at the same time the Air Force treats you better, uses more brains and isn't as physically exhausting. Like if the pay is the same for the ranks in all branches, I don't see why I should put myself through all that trouble of being a Marine. I don't want to be boots on the ground getting killed by a drone either.

Not sure if I'd want to go active or reserve/NG at this time, mainly because my parents are getting older. But I've also been living in the same hometown (still with my parents) for almost 23 years now. The guys I know who enlisted after high school seem to be well-traveled with way more life experience than me.

Do I start talking to a recruiter now? I don't know for certain, but I have heard officer applications take a while. Can it only be started after receiving my degree?

All input is welcome and appreciated.

Honest advice, wait until orange monkey is out of office. Travelling the world is cool, until you get sent to some dune ass shithole. Going to Japan or Belgium might be cool, but I don't think going to Iran is. Also, the military kinda takes the fun out of everything. Buddy of mine was stationed in the Rockies. He got a whitewater rafting certification, and he was doing Army whitewater rafting up in the mountains. This isn't civilian shit, this is all zog shit. So, my buddy is out doing his thing, everyone knows what he's doing, but there's a recall formation at his base. He's far away in the mountains somewhere, being a rafting instructor, so he misses the calls. Hard to blame him, considering how you can't really use your phone while whitewater rafting, even if you could somehow get signal out there, which you won't. Anyway, his leadership flips out, demotes him, and almost sends him to military prison for this. He did nothing wrong, he just missed a phone call from his CO and a random ass recall formation. Think about that before you associate the military with any type of "fun". My buddy tried to have fun, and he did it the official Army way, violating no rules and hurting absolutely no one. All he wanted to do was teach soldiers how to whitewater raft on the weekends.

>joining as an officer
Jsyk, lieutenants are considered more useless than privates, at least when it comes to anything to do with combat or war.

There is 100% more to this than your buddy is telling. People don't get UCMJ'd for missing phone calls for reasonable causes, especially not while (supposedly) at an Army-run school or training event.
>LTs
This is a giant meme perpetuated by the type of E-4 Mafia/LCpl Underground member who believes himself to be the sole actual hard worker in the platoon yet who does nothing but hang out in the smoke pit and eat PX Tornados. Your LT performs a variety of functions to accomplish the mission, even if those functions are more opaque than directly shooting the enemy like Private Snuffy.

>there's more to the story
I didn't realize you were there. People do get UCMJ'd for absolutely no reason, which is probably the best argument for why you shouldn't enlist. Normally, if you fuck up at work, you get fired, but in the military you'll be transformed into what is essentially a felon, forced to do manual labour for half of an E-1's pay for 3 months. And once again, this does happen to people who don't deserve it, because there is no actual Constitutional due process in military court.

>butterbars are useful, they do sooo much
About what I'd expect from a ktard. When I was deployed, we would send the butterbars in first to clear a room, because they were worthless cannon fodder. One E1 private is worth more than 2 butterbars. Even the LtCol knew this.

Yeah brah I got a 95 on the ASVAB and you're erring by thinking any form of authoritarianism is Fascism. Closest thing we had to a Fascist government in America was the Progressive movement from the 1890s-1930s that literally inspired Nazi Germany

I understand that argument, but if we're going to debate the definition of fascism, I would make the argument that modern USA is a globohomo fascist government. There's still a unified national race and culture, where the 'race' is mutts and the culture is globohomo. I understand if you don't want to call it fascism, but I don't mind that title, especially if it's underpinned by the extreme authoritarianism of today.

It's authoritarianism, it's just not Fascism. Why pretend it's something it's not? It's insulting to Fascists, and they lost WW2. Racism was a core tenet of Fascism before Mussolini even took power, it's not just a German thing. Muttdom cannot and will never be Fascistic because it is BioLeninist in nature. Besides, authoritarianism has a place in American history as well, Federalism came to exist for good reasons. Washington considered Jefferson a traitor to his country and never spoke to him again after he fired him. Hamilton tried couping the country to become dictator with the New Army but was too autistic about military uniforms. Lincoln, and I'm a Southron, did preserve the Union and managed to keep both the British and French out of America. FDR conquered the world. America has a long line of authoritarianism, with varying degrees as to what branch is spearheading it and how invasive it gets into each peoples lives.

I've never heard the term BioLeninism, but I do consider that Muttdom is racism against white males. By virtue of this racism, the racist requirement of fascism is fulfilled. But I won't press the point. I guess I concede that it's not technically fascism in a purist definition, but who uses the purist definition? In the modern world, fascism and authoritarianism are almost the same thing. The term "fascist" itself is pretty meaningless at this point. When I accuse USA of being fascist, I may as well be saying "authoritarian", because to me there's no real difference. We could argue about definitions all day, but you brought up something even more important: USA has had authoritarian leadership before. So what's different now? I'll tell you what's different now, and it's the internet. Authoritarianism is much more easily enforced and much harder to resist in an age where merely hiding any action from the Beast is nearly impossible. This technocracy is what I'm talking about, and I personally don't care whether you call it fascist, communist, authoritarian, etc. If you speak badly about Israel, you get banned from all major platforms. How is that not fascism?

>I'm graduating from university next year and I am thinking about joining as an officer, either the Marines or Air Force.
First input, Air Force OTS is very fucking competitive. Basically every retard out there with a BA in Business Management wants to be an Air Force officer. The first challenge is even getting an Air Force officer recruiter to pick up the fucking phone and talk to a retard like you. They literally do not need you. Not saying don’t go for it, but it’s picky rn. Selection rates are going up, and, by going up, I mean they’re going from like 2% to 12%. Also, the process can literally take fucking years. Even if you get selected, it still might be a whole year before the Air Force actually sends you off to join. Prepare to get a temp job to work while you wait in purgatory.

Marines are far less picky, but know this, you better be in great fucking shape. There’s only one thing the Marines hate more than fat Marines, and that’s fat officers. Marines is a different lifestyle all around. Also, their OCS is more physically intensive from what I understand, and a lot of people (mostly fat fucks) wash out because they get hurt. Be in shape, know how to run.
>I know these two branches are very different culturally but they both appeal to me. On one hand the Marines are badass trained killers with cool uniforms
You’re retarded. Nice job swallowing the propaganda. Those cool dress uniforms? You’ll wear them once a year. Also, most jobs aren’t infantry.
>but at the same time the Air Force treats you better, uses more brains and isn't as physically exhausting.
Job selection matters, but sure.
>Like if the pay is the same for the ranks in all branches, I don't see why I should put myself through all that trouble of being a Marine.
Because the Air Force might not let you in at all.
>I don't want to be boots on the ground getting killed by a drone either.
Retard. Job selection matters. There’s even combat Airmen.

>Not sure if I'd want to go active or reserve/NG at this time,
NG/reserves is not a job. Do you want a job or not? There’s full-time reserve spots, but they’re not guaranteed. Do you want a job or not? Also, it’s generally harder to commission into the reserves because you’re competing with officers getting off active duty.
>mainly because my parents are getting older.
Do you even wanna join the military? You can still deploy in the reserves. Your dad might die while you’re in fucking Africa. You’ve gotta make some choices.
>But I've also been living in the same hometown (still with my parents) for almost 23 years now.
Well, do you wanna live near your parents or not, retard?
>The guys I know who enlisted after high school seem to be well-traveled with way more life experience than me.
Hopefully less retarded too.

>Do I start talking to a recruiter now?
You haven’t even picked a branch.
> I don't know for certain, but I have heard officer applications take a while.
Yes.
>Can it only be started after receiving my degree?
No, you can start up to a year early.
>All input is welcome and appreciated.

Fake, bullshit story aside
>Honest advice, wait until orange monkey is out of office.
This is the funniest advice I see dumb retard civilians give.
>Bro, you don’t wanna join under Biden/Drumpf, wait until Biden/Drumpf is in office
In a military career, you could serve under up to 5 different presidents. It won’t matter and will hardly change your day to day. Also, changes in the military always take like 2-3 years to implement anyways. You’ll be basically done by the time “le scary changes” take effect, and they’ll just change back right after anyways.

People here were fearmongering
>Oh no, don’t join under Biden
And guess what, I did join under Biden. It was fucking business as usual. Now Trump’s back in office and my contract is almost up anyways. Big whoop.

Also, all Trump has done for the military so far is kick out trannies and change PT standards. Which, the trannies are still being “out processed” or whatever. This will probably go on for like 2 more years. The PT changes haven’t even been realized yet, and it might be a whole nother year before they actually go live. The next president will just change them again anyways.

Literally nothing has changed day to day unless you’re trans or fat. Big whoop.

I don’t know if you’re new to this general, but the resident schizos have identified themselves multiple times in the past. There’s about 2-3 of them, and they’re all grown men. They’ve been posting in /meg/ daily for the last 5-6 years. They have no lives and they’re obsessed to the point of literal insanity.

It’s funny because only like 12 people use this general any given thread, and 2-3 of them (not including their ban evasion) is full-time trolls. Mods are aware of them, and they simply don’t care enough.

One of them is a fat fuck who got kicked out the Army in basic.

Another one is some engineer who somehow got swindled into enlisting as a cook and spent 10 years in the job. He somehow thinks it’s not his fault.

Can’t remember much about schizo #3. Probably the least active poster.

They won’t stop. Ignoring them won’t work. They’ll just keep spamming and talking to themselves. They post at all hours of the day. For some reason we can’t seem to permaban them.

People bitch about military pay because military people are terrible with money, and they’re insulated for how rough things are for the average Joe.

Even enlisted pay is not that bad. Your average civilian normie is scraping by on $50k a year and paying for their healthcare out of pocket. Military members are just retards who can’t budget.

That being said, pick your rate, pick your fate. An O-3 stuck inside a submarine underwater for months at a time is making (more or less) the same as a finance O-3 who works 6 hours a day and then goes home to their luxury apartment with a pool and jacuzzi.

The real pay disparity in the military is people (largely) only getting paid for their rank and not how hard their job is.

>And there are lots of easier ways to be set that are nicer than military life, but it can kinda be boring
They’re really aren’t, buddy. The median salary in the USA is $50k. Are there nicer jobs out there? Yes, but if they were easy, everyone would do them. Military O is unironically one of the quickest ways to go from 21 year old retard to making six figures in the USA.

Enlisted is some of the best money you can make as a 17 year old retard who’s never done anything. The people who bitch the most are the 35 year old retards who’ve never done anything in life and enlisted in their middle age because they have no other options
>Hurr, duh pay sucks

Not giving up all the beans but if you go to a technical college for Airplane maintenance you can currently get a job at one of the midrange companies and get paid $36 an hour as a 20 year old. Over time is 1.5x for the first two hours and 2x for every hour after that. Weekend work can be anywhere from 1.5-3x your regular pay depending on your contract
There’s lots of traveling work in the airlines to so going a weeks at a time on per diem is kinda normal
And it all adds up I’m 24 and get paid 42 an hour for my certs and incentives

Doesn’t it take like 3 years to get your A&P? Also, there’s a lot (like a fucking lot) of aircraft MX in the military. And the mil will pay for your A&P.
>you can currently get a job at one of the midrange companies and get paid $36 an hour as a 20 year old.
Uh, without your A&P? Or are we assuming they started fresh at 17 and already have it?
>Over time is 1.5x for the first two hours and 2x for every hour after that. Weekend work can be anywhere from 1.5-3x your regular pay depending on your contract
Don’t most places start you on nights though? For like years? I feel like that’s important to mention.
>And it all adds up I’m 24 and get paid 42 an hour for my certs and incentives
Good for you man, but that’s still like $84k a year + whatever healthcare plan you got. That’s a far cry away from $150k like an O-3 in Cali is pulling. Obviously officer pay varies by location, but $84k is prolly a fucking O-1 in Bumfuck, No Where. E-5, E-6 is pulling that depending on the where they’re at and such.

>Might not be for everyone but I’d rather do this than be in the military
Yeah, that’s fine, but aircraft MX is hard ass work. You’re also prolly gonna end up nights. Also, you can do that in the military for at least a contract, get your A&P, and leave for civvy maintenance.

Not even being a recrooter here, but we’re discussing mil pay and jobs and such, so just putting it in perspective.

Interesting. That’s new.
>but even then lots of people I graduated with got theirs within 18 months and now days there are 2week crash corses (for people who are in the industry but just want a quick way to get certed)
Okay, but that 2 week crash course means diddly shit to somebody who has no experience because no way they’re gonna pass that shit. It seems like the standard approach is still get your A&P first then work. Maybe work a little while you’re in A&P school (still prolly gonna make less while you’re learning).
>I’m looking at Alaskas pay scale and 36 is without the A&P but you have no shot to work on any flight line as a 20 year old without it
I had no idea it was even legal to work without some kind of A&P certification. I don’t think I even want unqualified teenagers working on fucking aircraft lol. At least the Air Force holds your hand until they’re sure you want blow everything up.
>It’s not as cut and dry as that like on paper I’m on nights but if I go on a temporary assignment it can be whenever we are set up to work.
Okay, but you’re on nights though. Military can put you on nights too, but I’ve never heard of anyone going straight to the airlines and being put on days from the jump.

I get how overtime works, but not everyone wants to work 50+ hours a week. There’s no overtime in the military. Some mil people are working crazy long hours. Other people are working crazy short hours, but they pay is the same no matter what.

Some mil gigs travel a ton and get a lot of per diem, but your varies job to job.

Yeah I know guys who threw 10k at that program just to fail, it’s ment to be like the minimum legal requirement to get someone who already knows what they are doing to pass and like I said 10k is a normal asking price for these crash corses
But yeah it’s standard to do the two year corse regardless of where you start I’ve met some really cool military guys there like a marine who worked on f-35s on a latorial ship and a Blackhawk crew chief

>I had no idea it was even legal to work without some kind of A&P certification. I don’t think I even want unqualified teenagers working on fucking aircraft lol. At least the Air Force holds your hand until they’re sure you want blow everything up.

You’d be surprised most of the people at major repair stations aren’t A&Ps most of the flight line work is done by techs with A&Ps but repair stations are like a 50/50 split and to be fair to them they know what they are doing they just don’t have the license but because they work under the repair stations license they don’t need a personal one even though they get paid more for it

You won’t get cucked out of your branch of choice because of your age. That being said, do you already have your degree and are you trying to go through OCS? What do you want to do in the army and why do you want infantry/MI? Answer those questions and I’ll be able to give better advice

It’s not too bad. It’s a lot different than being an XO in FORSCOM. On the bright side you have a lot more stability since you won’t be deploying, and you know your work schedule 6+ months out. Downside is you will work a lot of saturdays, and being an XO in general just sucks. I’m biased though because I dislike the logistical side of being an XO. You also don’t have a set summer block leave.

Why do you want to be an OSUT XO? I’m assuming you’re in the JOBA marketplace?

Some services offer student loan repayment, but it’s less common now and usually doesn’t cover everything.

However, the military will cover your whole education if you serve before you attend college. Tuition assistance, GI Bill, etc. If you want to go to college and have even an inkling you want to join the military, I’d just enlist Air Force immediately in like finance or something and do college after. I always feel bad for those dudes with $80k in student loans who just end up enlisting anyways after graduation (there’s a lot of them in the military).

There are ROTC scholarships to get your education covered before serving, but they kinda suck compared to the GI Bill. Also, not everyone gets them. It’s weird. I’ve met O-4s that are still paying back student loans. It’s crazy.

Honestly, I think if you’re deadset on the officer path, then the best route is
8 year enlistment > get out (or guard/reserve for tuition assistance) > ROTC + GI Bill > Commission > 12 years officer > Retire O-3 or O-4

But only if you have a crystal ball and can see the future and know you’re doing 20. Officers with 6+ years of enlisted TIS are fucking untouchable. They hover above the officer fuck-fuck games. They can retire without having to make O-5 or even O-4 potentially. They can shit on the boss’s desk and take a nap in his chair and be fine. You skip all the bullshit of the senior ranks on both the E and O side.

An OSUT XO is way more involved with training than you would think. You will most likely assist the drills as a safety on ranges, and fill top 3 requirements out in the field. That being said, you will at most spend like 1 or 2 nights in a row out in the field. For FTXs you’ll be out there the whole day, but then you go home for the night unless it’s your night.

You'll be fine with your 10 general orders and Sailors Creed. Try and familiarize yourself with ranks too. If you're able to pass your initial PRT they will probably promote you to E2 on the spot (that might not be the case 10 years later). Absolutely do not try and date in bootcamp, that will get you shit canned, and in general its best not to shit where you eat. 99% of military women arent worth it.

I’m not necessarily wedded to infantry, more like combat arms in general. Why? First of all because I’ve read that a combat arms stint is more important as you rank up. Second, because that’s basically military bread and butter right? That’s what people join to do. I’m not saying I would definitely want to do 20 as an infantry officer. I’m just saying I may as well see if I do if I’m going to join. As for intel, I previously worked in finance and A LOT of the guys in good jobs that I worked with were in Intel. I asked why they were all Intel once and the guy told me it just prepares you better for civilization employment than other branches. So my attitude is basically do the army thing or do the thing that prepares you for life after army thing. Those are combat arms and Intel as far as I can tell.

More often than not I've found these hatchet/beard oil/coffee/cigarette manicured brovets are people that got dishonorably discharged or washed out of BMT which I guess makes sense when it takes a specific type of pussy to play dress-up

Define what you consider cool shit but generally no. The spy/counterintelligence/group(SFG) assignments do require experience and having proven yourself in your first contract but as long as you don't have deformities and keep pushing yourself on every workout you can make it happen. I imagine it's the same for other branches

Not too late to start a med school push if youre hardworking and not a retard. Depends on if you think medicine is cool, but you'll be an officer so you'll never be one of the boys

Hello, I am in the Army National Guard.

Do not join after high school if your goal is to do cool Army shit because nothing is guaranteed unless you're in a kickass state in a unit that has funding.
If your end goal is college you're better off joining active and doing classes part time and get out with your full post 9-11 gi bill.

Everyones experiences are different though, I'm just here to bitch because I wish I had taken a different path when I turned 18.

You'll get death, not action. Why do retards think it's fun to get bombed? The only people who think war is "fun" are the ones who haven't actually fought.

Nigga, the Ukranians aren't even doing formations anymore, because it turns out formations make easy targets for drones, and it's not the 1800's anymore so formations offer no tactical advantage. Mutts still haven't learned this lesson somehow, so they still dedicate crazy effort to perfecting 200 year old marching and D&C.

You must be one of the resident schizos that washed out in basic training. Drill and ceremonies doesn’t exist outside of basic training unless you’re fucking Honor Guard or something (which duh).
>they dedicate crazy effort
Is so fucking false it can only come from someone who never served or never made it past basic training. I haven’t done D&C since the day I graduated basic. Not a single time since.
