Meme, but for me, I’d rather at least be getting paid, earning retirement years, and maybe get your GI Bill while you wait on the officer process. But I dunno. There’s really no perfect solution anymore. I’ve heard ridiculous shit like the Air Force making officer selects wait 2 years before actually sending them to OTS or whatever, and this is after however much time they spent getting selected in the first place. That’s damn near an entire enlisted contract.
I’m an enlistoid, so I’m a little biased, but I think I’d honestly rather enlist and finish a contract while I’m playing the officer waiting games. But I know that’s a very controversial opinion.

Was looking at Air Force OTS, but not only is it picky as fuck, but apparently the pipeline is so backed up that candidates are waiting over a year to go to OTS even after being selected. That’s like 1/4th of a contract, so not time efficient for someone like me trying to get out after 4 anyways.
I’ve given up on doing engineering or anything cool in the military as an officer because all the good jobs are piled with candidates, have 6+ year initial commitments, or makes people wait 2 years before they get their first paycheck.
So what’s a stupid easy officer job (in any branch) where I’ll ship quick, won’t work much, and hopefully be stationed at a base that doesn’t suck? I’m open to any branch, even Coast Guard.
