That's what I had in mind, but often I would simply say he (or anyone else of note) routed and limped back to the forest to lick his wounds, and be ready to slay any up and comers who think they can slay him in his weakened state.
But for the regular bray shaman or wargor who for example got shot by a hochland longrifle round through his torso I would say he would be dead meat.
Of course if the narrative is good enough and the moment is epic things might change, it is a game after all and making a story around it should be just as fun as the game.
