the best of my understanding of sonic is that no one really attempted a sonic 2 like story since. not even the movies.
but regardless. I admit I find a lack of that myself. I normally make my own via daydreaming at work. Even stuff I really like often lacks chuuni, or cuts out at least some of the chuuni shit. I prefer it. loads of it really

agreed. if anything genre saviness enhances the effect, because that doubles the engagement if the character participates in the chuuni.

I don't hate guns. I'm enjoying maria walston carters story just fine. what I don't like is that the entire premise of the fight is that the character just has to one tap everyone, and every moment out of that boring kind of fight we have a character who wont stop blowing trails while refusing to engage with or let me experience anything that people who would like it would care about. its a giant list of tell not show. oh theres totally side quests, and wholesome dialogue, and named npcs I built a guide on but will never ever talk to.
They build up pages and pages of stuff of the mc to talk about how this is like wehavekisekiathome but its actually not like it in any way. Even the most edgy character, renne, was introduced with a hide and seek game.

I'm listening to this. Is this a protagonist fucks everything up or typical Korean psychoticness on display? The hatred of the church seems really weird because the character is acting exactly like the people she's always shitting on. Having the setting be a lot more grim and focusing on the paradise vs oroboros/rmp side quest is interesting but the writer really fucked up the balance of combat here. In kiseki you can't just headshot someone . People tank bullets all the time. Even tank fire sometimes. It makes it feel way too convenient for the protagonist if a gun is just magically overpowered. And the shit she teaches the princess is psychotic too. It feels like I'm being asked to read a parody of a kiseki fic where the bad writing is on full display but theres no time spent on the comforting slice of life stuff. Does it ever get good? 20 chapters is almost 5% and no one's even shared a meal. By this time in Jessica isekai we were already getting potato salad croquette recipes and spiced apple tea.
