I'm tired of seeing "strong female characters" because all it ever means is them being physically strong like a man and fighting like a man. It doesn't matter if they're hot or ugly, they're still written like they were men. Forget about the politics for a moment here and just realize how fucking lazy that is. There's simply no point to having female characters if they are just going to be male in everything but appearance unless you're a degenerate fetishist like a lot of male and "male" consumers of anime and the mangaka like this guy >>279137156.
Think about why everyone keeps bringing up Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor as examples of actually well written strong female characters who also fight and it's because they're believable. They don't fight like men and they don't do everything alone, they needed help from strong men too. Why do you think they're so often used as leads in horror movies as well? Men and women are not the same and something being fiction is also not an excuse because of verisimilitude. Anything else is pure propaganda and fetish pandering as if two foreign (((American))) organizations conducting an obvious agenda driven poll clearly designed to try to manipulate gullible Japs wasn't clue enough. There's already no shortage of weak and pathetic male leads because the men who watch and create most of this shit are weak and pathetic themselves.
