What this >>715425267 said, but of a certain distance you can still put "roofs" to extend the foundation and support them with pillars. It's how I was able to make the "dock" here. Once it gets too deep tho, even the pillars dont work

Kek thanks. The ship itself is partially on the water, but the "dock" itself is on it, all held up by pillars to a certain depth.
