Yes, but also get gloves because they'll rip up your skin, and safety glasses because they can take out an eye when they snap.
Bands are great for developing fast-twitch fibers because unlike with weights, you don't have to worry about cheating with momentum during the concentric phase.

Calisthenics was a way for me to get away from all the brown people at the gym.
But now they're hogging the local calisthenics park too, and their disgusting stench irritates my nose even outdoors.
I think I'll just get a couple resistance bands and train wherever I can find a quiet spot without brown people.
