Ultimately, the reason I got triggered is the conflation in my mind of "expendable" with "without value". A hellfire missile is expendable and with great value (for its purpose). So often I hear the the latter stated as the former and it's infuriating.
The idea that a person is "sacrifice-able" simply because of their born sex is odious to me - yes, men are more <whatever> and women are more <whatever else>, but the idea that we don't need half the population to be a healthy society is insane. "Fatherless behavior" is a phrase, after all (though not all fatherless behavior comes from a home that is without a father, so there's that too, but that's a different frustration).

Iunno, if men are disposable/expendable, it seems women only have one redeeming "quality" in the same way then.
